All teams and individuals are asked to follow these specific guidelines.
- Each team has a designated sculpturing/building area of 6 metres by 6 metres.
- Each Individual has a designated sculpturing/building area of 6 meters by 3 meters.
- Only biodegradable decorative materials such as shells or seaweed may be used.
- Food colouring and flour are permitted, but adhesives of any kind are not allowed.
- Each team is expected to build their sculpture with hand tools only such as masonry, garden or household implements, shovels and tampers, and are allowed.
- No Power Tools are allowed (including battery operated ones).
- Water containers for builders can be filled ahead of time and stored outside the building plot.
- Watering of your plot can begin one hour prior to competition start time. There is no limit to the number of water carriers, but they must stay outside the plot.
- Formwork can be used and removed as each stage is completed.
- In your pack you will have the judging sheets so you will know what the judges are looking for.
- Please keep your plots clean and free of litter.
- We request that you bring flags, so they can be flown during the event.
- Teams are responsible for their own food, water bottles, sunscreen, etc.
- Form work can comprise of wooden/plastic, bottomless boxes or containers to ram sand to make your base for sand sculpturing.
